K-Ki (ケーキ), No 7 Ann Siang Hill
I’m very bad at names. Pardon me if I have to ask your name twice. Someone told me about “K-ki” but I totally couldn’t remember who told me about this place.
To my understanding, K-Ki (ケーキ), which meant cakes in Japanese.
No. 7 Ann Siang. This is a stretch of road that I pass by often from my office to Ann Siang Hill. I always secretly hope that someone would take over that shop and change it into food eatery. Well, my secret wish came true. The folks from K-ki and The Little drom shop have used that premises for themselves.
I love their minimalist Japanese interior design. The use of the large glass windows and the spacious interiors, coupled with the wooden furnishing gives the place a cosy and minimalist look. I’m not an expert in architecture but I love the vibes of the place. It’s good to stop by, grab a drink and have a piece of cake.
Well, the Little Drom Shop have lots of very nice knick-knacks items as well. Do check them out.
K-Ki serves a variety of cakes with names like Antoinette, Café Dumo, Souffle Cheesecake. All their cakes are freshly baked by the owner themselves. Their cakes are slightly pricey ($5-$8) but they tasted pretty good.
I like it that there’s a person/story to share for every piece of cake.
My instinct tells me that the folks at K-Ki will probably need to have more tables and chairs to cater for more. : )

Hi girl, i bought the cakes back home and i left my camera in the office. how smart of me! No photos 😦 Only the ones from my hp.
I’ve had Antoninette, Cafe Dumo and Souffle Cheesecake. The cakes are pretty small though.
Nice photos you have here. I guess my lunch venue next Friday is set.
Anyway, just wondering, what filter did you use to give that rustic mood? Care to share? 😛

Anyway, i did some post editing at times to create that mood though. Edited the Colour Curves. Hope that helps! Let me know if you need any more clarification! 🙂
Lucky you to work near K Ki, I am tempted to drop by for more of their cakes since there is limited creations each day and they get sold out pretty fast…
Btw, for the post editing, are you using photoshop? If so, I thought curves is used to enhance shadows and highlights. Love the vintage feel. Something different and I would like to try this effect out…
🙂 Yeah 10-15 minutes walk. But it can be quite a “hot” walk if the scorning sun is out. Their stuff are almost gone by 6pm.
I’m using photoshop and photoscape. The Curves generally can be used to enhance the shadows and highlights. Editing the various Red,Blue,Green Curves and also the saturation can do quite a bit of difference to the whole picture. Will write about it soon to be more specific 🙂
Well, the walk is worth it since the cakes get sold out so fast. By the time, I reached there, I guessed there will only be drinks for me.
Hmm… I usually dread using curves as I tend to make the picture “flat”. Thanks for the tip, will try with the various channels… and of course, looking forward to both your Halia and photoshop post 😀
Yeah. I used to dislike working around this area. I’m always complaining about the crazy crowd here. But looking back, it’s actually not that bad. I’m spoilt for choices for food (minus Lau Pat Sat). You tried using Photoscape? When i’m lazy, i will just use it! It’s pretty good!

It’s easy to use too!
Just went there yesterday. It’s pretentious, the vintage stuff is very expensive and some dont event work, the Singaporean lady boss is rude and unwelcoming. If you’re looking for warm Japanese hospitality, it’s sorely lacking here. The staff are very too-cool-for-school in their designer tees and sneakers, and so are their icy personalities. The six of us spent $80 on cakes and drinks and stayed for about 2 hours. Yes the cakes were tasty especially the Flourless Choc Cake. The ambience is quaint and cosy with all four tables occupied. I went up to the cashier with my empty glass for the second time to ask for a refill of water. And she said in summary: “This is not a sit-down-and-eat place, it’s takeaway”. So what the heck are the chairs and tables for??
To think i was gonna order another round of cakes. Seriously, this is my first and last time here.
Totally loved that place to bits! Didn’t have any of that experience that Jasmine had with the owners though. The owners of the little drom store did not pressure me by following me around the whole place (like some other places do, and its totally irritating) as I took time to look at their goods or even browse through their books. True, its a little pricey for some of the stuff we used to see lying around, but I guess that’s the price for vintage.
To the cake shop! The Little Red Riding Hood took my heart away. It has to be the best choco cake there… complimented by raspberry, which took away the heaviness of dark chocolate somewhat.
Staff was very friendly.. great vibes about the place and people, no complaints about their services at all. In fact I’d say its better than 90% of the shops in Singapore who will just tell you ‘its all there already’.
