Mom Tri’s Kitchen at Villa Royale, Phuket

May 3, 2010

It was definitely our best meal in Phuket.

Mom Tri’s kitchen combines the breathtaking views of Kata-noi, the awesome sunset with an extensive upscale gourmet menu serving some european favourite and Thai dishes.

To start the ball rolling, we had some bread for our stomach before deciding our mains.

Seriously, it was really tough to decide! I could easily chosed 5 mains that i want to try 🙂

Something caught my attention though –

Baked Andaman Sea blue crab meat soufflé flavored with fresh herbs and spices

I have had Chocolate Souffle like umpteen times but Hot Crab Souffle? that’s new! It was very good! The sweetness of the crab meat goes very well with the herbs and spices! I could probably try to whip this dish up at home and (try to) impress my folks.

For our mains, we had

Fried rock lobster, river prawn, tiger prawn
and sea scallop topped with green
and black peppercorn sauce
served with steamed rice and stir fried vegetables

Fresh Rock Lobster, Succulent Prawns and nicely done stir fried vegetables. I could easily have two plates.

Grilled Seabass with lemongrass
served with vegetables & seafood sauce

The Grilled Seabass fish literally swept her off her feet when she realized the chef had debone the fish.  The photo doesn’t do justice to the food but it was really good.

The good thing about holidays. We don’t count our calories and we were always hungry in Phuket (The insane hot ☀weather drained all our energy away…)

And of course, we ordered desserts.

For Desserts, We had

Warm passion fruit crêpe soufflé served with mango sherbet

Three style, basil, Grand Marnier
and vanilla crème brulée
topped with a caramelize sugar crust

Sunset View, Great Company, Awesome food and impeccable service.

This is what, I truly call, a holiday.

We will do this again if we are heading back to Phuket, anytime. ❤

    hi there

I chanced upon your blog and love love love the gorgeous photos and great write-ups! My husband and I will be visiting Phuket next month to celebrate our 11th Wedding Anniversary. Can I ask how much did you pay for your meal at Mom Tri’s Kitchen? I’ve read mixed reviews about the restaurants (more good than bad). Now deciding if we should dine there on our anniversary night itself 🙂 any comments?

Try Lotus Restaurant the next time you go to Phuket. It’s at Bangtao Beach and the seafood is amazingly fresh. Cheap too. 🙂
