Caffe Beviamo

Hummingbird Cake

I love the Fridays in December as it’s the only time of the year both of us get to go on a date on Fridays. 🙂

We had a good stroll along orchard road on a weekday, enjoying the Christmas decor and this Friday, it’s his turn to pick a place for our tea break.

 He chose Caffé Beviamo.

Hummingbird Cake ($3.50)

We had the hummingbird cake, such a lovely name that reminds me of the humming bird bakery in London. So how did the Hummingbird Cake get its name? I searched online but only to find out that there’s no exact answer to it, but there’s high possibility that it might be due to the sweetness of the cake – just like the nectar that Hummingbirds love to feed on. The lovely cake at Café Beviamo was full of chopped pecans, mashed bananas and was lightly frosted. Priced at $3.50, I thought it was a steal!

Their coffee are also reasonably priced between $3- $4.80.

Pasta Sausage (#12.50)

Caffé Beviamo is truly a lovely café at the end of Orchard Road, in Tanglin Mall. Their service was impeccable, and a huge difference from the burger place we had last week. And to top it up, Caffé Beviamo does not have service charge. It’s good to have our tea session over here, away from the bustling crowd in Orchard and Somerest.

We will be back for a proper meal another day.

i like the black corners you do on your pictures, makes them look like they were taken by a holga camera 🙂

by the way, my blog is The Simplest Aphrodisiac, think you got it a tiny bit wrong on your link heh 🙂

Hi Harris > Yeap, they were done by the “pinhole” filter in my camera. 🙂 Thanks for highlighting the mistake! 🙂 Done now!

Haha I’ve been wanting to go Caffe Beviamo since 2 wks ago! Heard their sandwiches are good =) Do you still remember whether their lunch menu looks attractive? Or is it more of a place for tea/desserts?

Heya! I love that place. It’s such a good break from the crazy crowds in town, especially during the xmas season! It was so crazy in town when i was doing some christmas shopping! All the restaurants had queue! The simple no fuss Asian Kitchen, Ajisen had about >5 people queueing! 0_0

Their lunch menu includes decent priced pizzas, pastas and some sandwiches; all of them are below <15 bucks. It definitely looks attractive to me. You might want to consider making a reservation for lunch as the place can be really packed with all the Taitais, expats and families.

Their tea/desserts are simply a bonus as well! Cute Little Ginger Bread Cookies can be purchased alongside with your coffee/tea at $0.80 a piece.

All their pastries are freshly baked on the day itself. 🙂
